About Jack DeVries

Born and raised in Minnesota, Jack has always had a lifelong connection to the outdoors. Even as a young boy, his family struggled to get him to leave the woods. Soon after achieving degrees in finance and marketing at the University of Denver, he realized he would be taking a different path than his peers—something less corporate, something more "Jack."

Throughout the past decade, he's honed his craft as a photographer, starting in technical automotive photography and then ultimately returning to his outdoor roots in wildlife and landscape. Photography for Jack is more than just capturing fleeting moments; it's a defiance against the fading of memories. Using his lens, he puts handcuffs on the hands of time so his audience can stare into the eyes of nature in ways life rarely allows. 

Outside of photography, Jack produces and directs film in the commercial space. You can view some of his recent projects here. After many years of splitting time between states, he has finally set up shop in Montana full-time and he's looking forward to capturing new places this year & all the years to come.
